Atascadero Centennial Bridge and Plaza Project

In 2011 the City of Atascadero was interested in constructing a prefabricated free-span Bowstring Truss type pedestrian bridge over Atascadero Creek.  In 2017 this bridge was constructed and provides a scenic connection between the original City Hall near Sunken Gardens and the existing City Hall offices along Capistrano Avenue.  The bridge has a total span of approximately 155 lineal feet.   NCE assembled a design team to prepare the documents which included a structural engineer, electrical engineer, landscape architect and a soils engineer.  A path from El Camino Real to the pedestrian bridge and then to East Mall Drive with a decorative plaza was also constructed.
