Niner Wine Estates (Heart Hill Vineyard)

Location: Heart Hill Vineyard, CA
Client: Steven D. Pults, A.I.A. & Associates

Land Surveyor San Luis ObispoNiner Wine Estates is located on the 136-acre Heart Hill property and includes a Main Production Winery building, a Hospitality Center, a Demonstration Winery building, onsite waste discharge ponds and grape vineyards. In addition to the onsite construction, Highway 46 West was widened at the project entrance to add a left-turn lane into the project. Construction began in 2008 with the Production building, which includes a 27-foot tall soil nail wall approximately 440 foot long to minimize disturbance of existing Oak Tree groves and allow the Main Production Winery building to be inset into the hillside. The project received final sign off of the Highway improvements and was officially completed in 2010. In 2011 the project received LEED certification at the Silver level. Niner Wine Estates was the first winery in San Luis Obispo County, and only the fourth in the state, to receive such a certification.
