The celebration of Engineers week is dedicated to increase the understanding and interest of engineering to the future workforce. EWeek was founded in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers in conjunction with President George Washington’s Birthday. President Washington was considered the nation’s first engineer, mainly for his survey work. Today, EWeek is a formal coalition of more than 70 engineering, education, and cultural societies and more than 50 corporations and government agencies.
Engineers Week promotes the importance of math, science, and technology to motivate youth to pursue engineering careers. As we imagine tomorrow, engineers will be at the heart of the solutions to combat climate change, develop vaccines, and make the world a better place for all of us. It is essential that EWeek reaches thousands of schools, businesses, and community groups across the U.S.
North Coast Engineering has been active in the community for several years, promoting STEM, especially Engineering and Surveying, to our local youth. To keep this tradition alive, Engineers week will be held virtual due to the pandemic.
