About this Project
California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, remodeled its existing practice field with state-of the art synthetic turf. The I-Field is a 104,000 square foot synthetic turf renovation of the sod fields at the south-east corner of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo campus. The project includes four Musco field lights, equipment storage facilities, potable watering stations, two stationary film and observation towers, football goal posts and ball nets, soccer goals, and digital scoreboard. The field meets NCAA regulations as well ad meeting RWQCB post construction requirements by utilizing a herringbone drainage system and a hydrodynamic separator to efficiently drain the synthetic turf field and minimize long term flooding.
