About this Project

The SunPower Corporation is completing 250 MW solar photovoltaic project in the California Valley area of eastern San Luis Obispo County. This project comprised of ten solar arrays of varying size, medium-voltage transmission lines, a sub-station, a gen-tie corridor, which is a series of 23 tubular steel poles that carry the 230 KV lines and a fiber-optic line to the location of interconnection to the existing PG&E transmission lines and switchyard. The supporting infrastructure included connecting fire access roads, security fencing, a water supply, treatment, and storage facility to provide portable water on-site, an operation and maintenance facility, and a visitor’s overlook.
